Tourism Uganda has appointed a new board of directors from the all sectors that are stakeholders in Uganda tourism. The new members are from Uganda civil Aviation Authority, Uganda safari tour operators, Uganda hotels, Uganda wildlife.
The new board consists of Charmain Mr. James Tumusiime, a member of the publishing and media fraternity in Uganda, Executive Director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority Dr. Andrew Seguya, Lilly Ajarova, the Executive Director of the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Roger Wamara, Sales and Marketing Manager of Qatar Airways in Uganda, Amos Wekes, Ismail Sekandi, Managing Director of Rwizi Arch Hotel in Mbarara and former Executive Director of the Uganda Hotel Owners Association. Edith Kassaja-Kateme of the National Planning Authority appointed along with Mr. Michael Aliyo and Cuthbert Baguma.
During this meeting also new ways of revenue were discussed, the most important of which was the tourism development levy which is seen as a means to develop the tourism sector. This levy will be used to fund various tourism sectors mostly marketing which will be done on an international level to market Uganda as a destination
