The country manager of Brussels airlines Uganda, Mr. Puissant met Makerere University student a meeting organized by the CEDAT Makerere University. During this meeting the students discussed the way forward into the introduction of aviation coursed at the University.
The meeting was attended by a panel of Brussels Airlines Uganda staff members. With the growing traffic to Uganda mainly due to tourism as plenty of tourist are now visiting Uganda mainly to see gorillas and other tourist attraction. In addition Uganda has so much potential for any willing investors not forgetting oil.
Brussels Airlines is pushing for the introduction of these aviation courses because there is a growing demand for Ugandan’s with in Uganda to handle responsibilities in the aviation sector.
Uganda’s universities are not offering any aviation courses at degree level and other tertiary institutions too are not offering certificate or diploma courses. This leaves all in-sight about aviation mostly to those who work in the industry but not on the level of students wanting to actually pursue a career in aviation.
